Fall has arrived here in central Florida. It’s a whole ten degrees cooler. 😉
Ok, while it’s still warm enough to go to the beach, I can at least have fun coloring fall images to share with you! Today’s card features an adorable image drawn by Mo Manning and made into a stamp by Penny Black. For the layout, I turned to Fusion and their weekly challenge, which was just perfect for this larger image and a layered sentiment.
With so many pumpkins in the image, I thought it might be nice to vary it up and use different colors. I used a search engine to pull up images of pumpkins and then chose some Copic combinations for coloring. Don’t faint, there were a bunch…
Probably the most interesting combo was for the dark green pumpkins. (I didn’t even know that was a thing…) A few months ago I took a coloring class with Kathy R (30 day coloring challenge lady), and she mentions how she doesn’t concern herself too much with using colors from the same letter family. She just ‘plucks’ a dark, medium and light and goes from there. Interesting, huh? So for the dark green pumpkin, I used BG96, G85 and YG64 – not anything I would have attempted before but it worked out so well. Having tried this method a few times now, I find I’m using all of my markers more – not just a few favorites. (Yay – use all the stuff!)
Thanks for stopping by to see my card today. I hope you enjoyed it and maybe even got inspired to play with your supplies today. For more ideas and inspiration, be sure to check out the Fusion website and say hello!
