A few days ago, the folks over at Case This Sketch posted this layout as their weekly challenge. This super-useful sketch was a great jumping point for using some images I’ve been coloring and it also worked out for some die cuts I had sitting on my desk! I have already made about a dozen quick cards with this sketch (!) but don’t worry, I’ll just share two today! One is a fun card, the other is more elegant. Just shows how a great layout can take you in completely different directions.
This first card is the fun one 🙂 I used the super-cute MFT Christmas sELFies, colored up with Copic markers, and some fun patterned paper from my stash. I left it relatively free of embellishments and just added a die cut “celebrate” as the greeting. Since the elf is hanging upside down, hanging the sentiment seemed like a fun touch!
Next, I wanted to see if I could use some die cuts from the Bells Are Ringing bundle (SU!) I had the small bell on my desk as as the little swirly piece under it; it’s actually a “leftover” piece that comes out of one of the other bells in the die set. I added a little metal thread and a few sequins for shimmer and additional detail. No sentiment, I think I’ll save that for the inside.
Thanks for stopping by and checking out my cards. I hope you saw something you like and can use! Happy card-making!
